Prepping for Santa{aka: the final 2013 52×2!!}

We left food for the reindeer outside again this year. The kids got bold and braved it without even a shoe, never mind a jacket.Carefully sprinkling out the reindeer food.

They each had their own technique too. Thomas carefully sprinkled, while Molly tried to, but lasted only a second before turning her bag upside down and dumping the entire contents onto the ground.
Dumping the whole bag out.

Back inside, she was bright eyed in her Santa prep.

Happy Christmas! And Happy New Year!!

The obligatory tree bokeh post.

Well, it was inevitable that this post would come. In case you were waiting for it, a christmas tree bokeh was made just for you. If not? Well, enjoy it anyway.51/52/Life - Tree Bokeh

Speaking of enjoying, we saw Scrooge the Musical last night. The kids really had fun with it.
Seeing Scrooge, The Musical with the two older kids. :)

In trying to make Thomas not fake pose smile at me, I sang him a little “I Hate People“…
51/52/Portrait - Doing his best Scrooge impression.
Which resulted in a couple awesome Scrooge inspired faces. lol…

Happy almost Christmas! Three days to go!!

…oh and in case you were wondering?

ELF-PONG!!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

It snowed early this week, and it’s finally warmed up enough for the kids to happily play outside in it (yes, they are lightweights).
50/52/Portrait - Packing it in.

Of course I followed with my camera. Got a couple shots in, and then noticed something…
Frosty Impersonation

I had a flash of deja vu with this one.

The Giant Gingerbread House

Gingerbread House Tour
Today, we visited a life sized gingerbread house.

Molly and the Gingerbread
The kids kept asking if they could have a taste.

Thomas also wanted to take Rudolph home.

49/52/Life - Watching the fish dance.
…and Molly just wanted to stay to “watch the {imaginary} fish dance”.

It was a good day. <3

A long and lovely weekend.

This was one of the longest and loveliest weekends we’ve had in awhile. It kicked off on thursday with Thanksgiving and coincidentally my birthday.
48/52/Life - Cake.

Rounded out with some rock climbing in the mountains on Friday {a’la Maxfield Parrish}…
Into the sun.

48/52/Portrait - On top of the world.

And as you saw this morning, ending in some lovely elf inspired christmas decorating this evening.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Here’s to the weekend that started all the way back in November and brought us to December!

{excuse me while I do a little elfing downstairs… more on that tomorrow.}

Nearing the end, I find myself repeating things. {aka: 47/52/3013}

As we have only 5 weeks left to 2013, I sit back and realize that things just happen again and again in life, in slightly different ways.

Molly lost both her front teeth {the ones that have been hanging on for weeks} in the matter of two days.
47/52/Portrait -Tooth Fairy Revisited.

I talked her into giving the tooth fairy a break and combining both teeth for one visit.
Two Front Teeth

Once I was downloading the photos from my camera, I realized that, yup, I’ve done this before… specifically on week 19.
19/52/Life - First Tooth Fairy Visit.

I’m loving her new smile.
Beautiful New Smile

Speaking of smiling… check this out…
47/52/Life - Who is this big boy?

Who is this big kid? He pulled a stool over to the refrigerator, climbed up and took a cake from the shelf, set it on the counter, and then called me over, saying “Mommy! I can eat this?”
Mommy? I want this.

Seriously?

Who could say no to that face??
Silly Boy

Razor Pro

Since moving to our new home back in the beginning of Autumn, the kids have enjoyed the sidewalks of our neighborhood more than I ever thought they would.
Prepped for riding.

Practically overnight, Thomas has improved so much with his razor riding.
Focused.

With the improvement, came laser focus.
46/52/Portrait - Seriously awesome.

…and precision…
He's got this.

There are days when I look at the boy he has grown into and ask myself, “Who is this young man in front of me?”
46/52/Life - When did my boy get so serious?

Then he catches my eyes, and smiles, and I am reminded that it’s still Thomas.
But, thankfully, he's still Thomas.

I just sit back in awe. Loving watching him grow.

Falling for Fall

Well, the kids have officially had their first Autumn memory in the backyard.
45/52/Life - Childhood Memories

The apple tree let go of it’s last leaves, which means a pile was made and jumped in…
One of my favorite parts of Autumn.

And laid in…
She can make a cozy bed.

And adorned as hats…
She can wear them like a hat.

And well, fell, just as they are supposed to…

Happy Halloween 2013

If you’ve been following me on instagram {**cough** stalker **cough**} you’ve seen that I’ve been busy this october making costumes for the kids. You would have also seen that I finished in time {yay!} and all three were ready to trick or treat on All Hallows’ Eve.

Introducing…

The Pumpkin King! {Jack Skellington; Nightmare Before Christmas}
Jack, The Pumpkin King

Sofia the First {of Disney Junior fame}
Sofia the First

I upsized the spin around dress and made the skirt portion a complete circle petal skirt, for maximum spinning.

and… Fix-it Felix, Jr. {Wreck it Ralph}
Fix-it Felix, Jr.

They posed for pictures a bit and even did a couple classic character moves. {Check out Jack with his scary face}
44/52/Life - They never break character.

Smiles abound

Then, we announced “It’s trick or treating time!!”
Let's go trick or treating!

First, we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s House.
44/52/Portrait - Trick or Treat!

Then, around their neighborhood.
Trick Or Treating

Finally, we finished up at home, properly gorging on candy snacks and appropriately passing out on the couch before the night was through.
I'd call it a Halloween success. :) And with that, good night all. <3
Another year, another Halloween success. :)

Happy Halloween!!
