Marcus was feeling better today. He had a full night’s rest and was up and at ’em bright and early. He came downstairs in his “summaman” pj’s to find me taping the hallway. Immediately, he ran and got a dry brush, climbed up onto the ladder and exclaimed, “Mommy! I pain 10!”
It seemed like there was a reoccurring theme going on today. Poor Marcus was not feeling well so he was extra huggie, mixed with quiet moments where I snuck to prime and paint.
It looked either like this:
Thankfully, it was also mixed with bouts of this:
Resulting in this:
Today was a crazy busy day. We came to discover at around 8:15 am that the doorbell chime no longer worked. The poor guy that had come over to finish up the drywall texturing for Molly’s new wall tried to ring the bell, and then decided to wait in his car while calling my husband to see why no one was letting him in. Silly me watched for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out why he’d unload his stuff on the front porch, only to await in his car.
Apparently, it imploded. As I took the cover off to see if I could fix anything these parts just sprung out, literally.
By day’s end we had it all worked out, though.
A working doorbell for us, thanks to a trip to Lowes with my dad and Marcus, and a newly textured wall for Molly.
Oh, and a homemade apple pie for our bellies.
What? A girl’s gotta bake to deal with all that.
May the new year bring you fresh starts to explore, higher summits to climb, and new stories to create.
Today, Marcus decided he was in a coloring type mood.
Seems like that sorta thing is going around in my house.
I may have purchased some more paint to aide in that. Photos to follow, I’m sure.
Thomas got the gift of sight today. 😉 He was so excited looking around when he first put them on, and has been pointing out things he’s been missing ever since.
It’s so amazing to see him see.
It’s a perfect day to paint your bedroom.
In a tutu.
Don’t you think?
Why would the clumsiest, loudest Santa in the history of man think it was a great idea for Elfie to wrap the kids doors with their coordinating Santa present wrapping paper??
… I can think of three really good reasons.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Christmas Eve brought family presents for the kids to open, well, Elfie brought them I suppose. My MIL’s presents were a huge hit.
By days end, our Christmas tree was full and Santa still has yet to arrive.
The kids decided to leave cookies for him anyway. 😉 Couldn’t hurt, right?
With only two days left, Elfie brought sun catchers for the kids to paint. They even decided to decorate grandma and grandpa’s Christmas presents with them. These certainly are precious moments.
